All sessions are now Telehealth through Zoom, Teams or Phone.
A large part of being a narrative therapist is identifying the ways in which cultural and social norms and expectations get in the way of living our lives to the fullest. It is critical in my ethical point of view that as a therapist we identify the social and cultural influence on your problems.
For example, if it were only 1 person in 10 experiencing depression or anxiety, we’d say it is a personal problem, but when we see half the population struggling with these experiences (and most expected to go through this at some point throughout their life) we say it’s a social problem, and needs a social and cultural lens.
As we are neurodivergent living in a neurotypical or neuronormative world the majority of us will have trauma. Together we can process this and find ways to minimise the effects of this. You deserve to live a life as your wonderfully divergent self and find ways to navigate this safely and confidently. Let’s do that gently together.
Counselling is 50 minutes in length and I’ll let you know as we are coming to the end of our sessions.
